Sharing Listing Data Revenue with the Brokers Who Earned It
As a cooperative, CRMLS believes in giving back to our brokerage community. That’s why select brokerages will receive a share of the revenue generated from their own listing data.
This initiative is about more than just payments. It puts brokers at the center of the marketplace to support transparency, encourage innovation, and strengthen long-term success. Giving back a fair share of revenue reflects a continued focus on a system built by real estate professionals, for real estate professionals.
Currently, payments are being distributed to nearly 2,000 brokerages that listed five or more properties in 2025. If your brokerage is eligible, please check for a confirmation email to verify your distribution details.

Auction Listing Requirements
When a property is marketed at auction rather than listed through traditional channels, follow rule 7.18.1 to ensure your listing is compliant with CRMLS Rules and Policies. Take the following steps to avoid a violation:
- Obtain the listing contracts
- Label the property as an auction listing in the MLS
- Provide all auction terms and conditions directly in the MLS
Note: Reserve auctions are NOT permitted in the MLS.
Understanding Property Types
Because most listing searches begin with Property Type criteria, choosing the right category is critical to accurately representing your listing and reaching your target audience. When adding an entry to the MLS, select from the following options: Residential, Residential Lease, Residential Income, Manufactured in Park, Land, Land Lease, Commercial Sale, Commercial Lease, or Business Opportunity.
