You can contact the Broker Compliance Helpline in three simple steps:

  1. Make sure your MLS ID is ready (note that only active Brokers, Office Managers, and Personal/Office Assistants connected to a Broker or Office Manager can use the Helpline). To learn if your ID has the correct MLS user class, please email brokers@crmls.org
  2. Call 909-859-2043.
  3. Press 3 to speak directly to a Compliance Analyst for assistance.

You can reach us Monday – Friday from 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM PT. Please do NOT share this phone number with agents.

If you have questions regarding your user class or Personal Assistant/Office Assistant accounts, please email us at brokers@crmls.org

The Office Compliance Email is the single defined email address for Broker-level compliance emails sent to an office. This means that compliance emails that would ordinarily go to a Broker, office manager, and/or office assistant (e.g., agent citations, etc.) will go directly to a single email address of the Broker’s choice. As a reminder, it is your responsibility to keep the Office Compliance Email Address up to date. Please note: the Broker will still be included even if there is an Office Compliance Email in the roster, and the agent will still receive the notice to their individual email.

If Brokers do not update this field, the Compliance emails will be sent to the Office Manager email (if there is an Office Manager linked to the office); if there is no Office Manager linked to the office, Compliance emails will be sent to the Designated Broker (DB).

The Office Compliance Email Address can be updated by contacting your AOR directly or by following the step-by-step guides for your MLS platform.

See the Compliance Quiz Question of the Month below for more information.

“My Broker told me that I received a citation and fine because I didn’t correct a violation after CRMLS sent me a warning to do so. I didn’t see any emails asking me to correct a violation. How can I make sure that CRMLS’ communications are reaching me in the future?”

a) Confirm with your Association that your email address on file is correct
b) Check your spam folders for emails from CRMLS
c)Nothing – just let your Broker tell you if they are aware of any emails that may have been sent to you
d) Both A and B

Answer: D

Per CRMLS Rule 12.22: “Every MLS Participant/Subscriber shall be required to maintain on file with the AOR/MLS a current, accurate, and active email address at which they may be contacted.” Please ensure that you have set your spam filters to allow emails from CRMLS.

CRMLS Compliance FAQs

Compliance Rules and Policies

There’s no denying how beneficial location insights can be to your day-to-day business. If you’ve ever used Local Logic, you know how useful it can be to help clients make informed real estate decisions.

Now, Local Logic has taken things a step further. With the all-new NeighborhoodIntel, users can generate unique reports for any property or address that can be personally branded and shared with clients. As of November 14, CRMLS users can start generating unlimited NeighborhoodIntel reports for only $20 a month.

If your clients have reservations about how to plan and secure their mortgage, or if all the numbers and percentages are making their heads spin, CRMLS has tools to help calm their concerns and make financing less intimidating.

When a listing only advertises the asking price, a client only sees a huge number without any concept of how or if they can afford it. RatePlug helps market the real cost of the property, with mortgage information that plans out monthly payments and can provide answers to common “what if?” scenarios. Embedding RatePlug info on your listings helps turn homeownership from passive fantasy into active reality, as potential clients can get a better picture of real costs and see what lending options are available to them. It can also be an incredible time saver for agents, as RatePlug can research a property’s eligibility for financing programs like FHA, VA, or USDA, thereby increasing the potential buyer pool. It’s the customizable financing tool that makes your listings all the more accessible.

RatePlug is available at no additional cost to all CRMLS users, and you can learn more about its features in our Knowledgebase

Down Payment Resource (DPR)

While getting a good mortgage rate is important, the biggest hurdle for some clients will be the initial down payment, as it’s a lot of money to part with all at once. That’s why CRMLS offers DPR, which tracks hundreds of California homeownership programs (and thousands nationwide) through its finance agency partners. DPR can then automatically match these programs with eligible buyers, offering them crucial assistance for their financial planning. You can also easily enable DPR on your IDX sites, so potential buyers can see how accessible financing options can be. It’s a dynamic tool that helps ease your clients into homeownership and relieve them of the anxiety and burden of their down payment.

DPR is a core product available at no cost, and you can find guides on how to use it in our Knowledgebase

Mortgage Calculators

Whether you’re on the go with your clients or are taking questions from prospective buyers at an open house, sometimes you need to do some quick calculations while you’re in the field. Many of our mobile-friendly apps can help you with the nitty gritty of providing payment figures in just a few clicks. You’ll find mortgage calculators in MLS-TouchParagon Connect, and, of course, the ever-useful CRMLS App. Don’t get caught off guard with financing questions, and make sure to always keep a mortgage calculator handy.

Money issues are never fun to discuss, and the anxiety around putting so much money down or signing up for a long-term loan can stop your client’s home buying journey in its tracks. Ensure that they feel safe and secure in your capable hands with all the CRMLS tools available to you. You’ll be a financing hero there to save the day while saving your clients’ money.

October 30 was a major day for cross-country MLS relations. CRMLS and the Mid-Atlantic’s Bright MLS now offer their Matrix users reciprocal access to listing data, benefiting buyers and sellers on both coasts.

Bright MLS is the largest MLS on the east coast, covering Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia. With more and more Americans moving further afield than their home states, it’s important that their agents and Brokers can swiftly access data to help facilitate their move. With this data “guest access,” CRMLS buyer agents can easily look for east coast homes, while our listing agents get their properties displayed to a larger, out-of-market audience. Data sharing benefits all parties from both MLSs and represents a more streamlined way to do business in new territories.

Accessing Bright MLS data is easy – simply click on the Links section on your Matrix page. Click here for our quick guide on reciprocal access.

To learn more about Bright MLS and reciprocal data access, please read our press release about the agreement.

Want to see all the MLSs/AORs that CRMLS offers reciprocal access to? Check out this map to see our full list of accessible systems.
