Governor Newsom’s Shutdown Order of 7/13 Does Not Affect Brokers or Offices

On Monday, July 13, Governor Newsom issued a new shutdown order. This order does not affect the current practices of real estate brokers or their offices. Please review the revised C.A.R. Reopening Brokerage Offices FAQ.

Remember to check to see if your city or county has stricter rules.

Guidance on following Cal OSHA guidelines

We’re offering some guidance on how to follow recent guidelines from CalOSHA on how to safely conduct business during the COVID-19 viral outbreak.

It’s important to note that the task of establishing a written COVID-19 prevention plan belongs to the listing brokers, not the MLS. While there are some guidelines, it is up to the individual broker and seller to determine their specific COVID-19 prevention plan.

C.A.R. has posted an extensive FAQ regarding showings that you may find valuable. It includes guidance on where to find C.A.R.-created documents and pictograms.

Please note: When including COVID-19 prevention plans in MLS listings, the best places to do so are:

Matrix Registered Status is now available

It’s here! The new Registered status in CRMLS Matrix launched August 18 and allows agents and brokers to register listing contracts with the MLS without having to file an exclusion form (such as the C.A.R. SELM) with CRMLS.

Schedule a presentation at your brokerage today!

Listings in the Registered status are like listings you used to exclude from CRMLS, in that they are neither displayed in nor distributed through the MLS.

In the Registered status:

  • Public marketing is not allowed
  • No commission is publicly offered
  • Days on Market do not count
  • Showings may only be given to clients of the listing broker

Paragon

A major upgrade is coming to Paragon in September 2020

In September, a major Paragon upgrade is coming your way!

We’re so excited about the upcoming improvements that we wanted to share some of the highlights with you early.

This isn’t just a system update, it’s a complete overhaul of your Paragon platform. (Worry not – your system will still look the same, and you won’t have to re-learn everything about Paragon.)

Highlights include:

  • Full RESO (Real Estate Standards Organization) compliance: CRMLS will soon be the only MLS organization in San Diego County to offer nationally standardized data in full compliance with RESO.
  • Standardization of fields: Due to the feedback we’ve gathered from Paragon users over time, certain fields, including room dimensions, will be removed; others may be changed or added. We’re excited to give you an MLS platform that’s easier to use than ever!
  • MLS data in alignment with the rest of CRMLS: Soon, the information on your listings will parallel the rest of CRMLS. This means no more data differences, no more searching for different fields across systems, and a smoother MLS experience overall.

Be on the lookout for more details in the months to come. We’ll be sending you helpful information on your new MLS platform soon, as well as offering no-cost training sessions as we get closer to our launch date. We’re looking forward to bringing you CRMLS Paragon soon!
